Charter School Growth Fund Investment Will Allow High-Achieving School to Expand
KIPP Austin has been awarded $4.6 million in grants and loans by the Charter School Growth Fund (CSGF). This investment will support central operations as KIPP Austin expands from one middle school serving 360 students in grades 5 to 8 to 10 schools serving more than 5,000 students in grades K to 12 at full enrollment. Through this expansion, KIPP Austin expects to more than double the number of African-American and Hispanic students in Austin who graduate from high school prepared for college each year.

Texas High School Project Awards $700,000 Grant to Expand High-Achieving Charter School
KIPP Austin has been awarded a $700,000 grant by the Texas High School Project (THSP) of Communities Foundation of Texas to fund the opening of a high school serving grades nine to twelve. Through this grant, KIPP Austin will open a high school in June 2008 with a class of 90 ninth grade students, adding one grade each year thereafter.
