Commitment to Excellence

Each teacher, parent, and student must sign the Commitment to Excellence. This is a set of promises we make to each other in order to reach our goal of academic excellence.

Students’ Commitment:

Without taking shortcuts, we fully commit to KIPP Austin College Prep in the following ways:

  • I will work my hardest to improve so I can meet KIPP Austin College Prep's academic and character expectations.
  • I will be honest about my actions and accept responsibility when I make mistakes.
  • I will always work, think, and behave in the best way I know how, and I will do whatever it takes for my fellow students and me to learn.  This means that I will always listen to all my teammates and give everyone my respect.
  • I will always behave so as to protect the safety, interests, and rights of all individuals in the classroom.
  • I will raise my hand and ask questions in class until I understand something.
  • I will complete all my homework every night.
  • I will call my teachers when I have problems with homework.
  • I will always make myself available to parents and teachers for any concerns they may have.
  • I will arrive at KIPP Austin College Prep every day by 7:30 a.m. (Mon. – Fri.) or board a bus at the scheduled time.
  • I will remain at KIPP Austin College Prep until 5 p.m. (Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri.) and 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
