Commitment to Excellence

Each teacher, parent, and student must sign the Commitment to Excellence. This is a set of promises we make to each other in order to reach our goal of academic excellence.

 

Parents' Commitment:

Without taking shortcuts, we fully commit to KIPP Austin College Prep in the following ways:

 

  • We will help our child in the best way we know how.
  • We will do whatever it takes to help our child master KIPP Austin College Prep’s expectations.
  • We will be responsible for the actions of our child.
  • We will make ourselves available to our children and to the school as needed.
  • We will read carefully all papers the school sends home to us.
  • We will check our child’s homework every night.
  • We will ensure our child calls the teacher when there are problems with homework.
  • We will notify the school no later than the beginning of the school day if our child will miss school.
  • We will ensure our child arrives at KIPP Austin College Prep by 7:30 a.m. (Mon. – Fri.) or boards a bus at the scheduled time.
  • We will arrange for our child to remain at KIPP Austin College Prep until 5 p.m. (Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri.) and 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • We will arrange for our child to attend KIPP Austin College Prep on appropriate Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • We will ensure that our child attends KIPP Austin College Prep summer school.
  • We will allow our child to go on KIPP Austin College Prep field lessons.
  • We will ensure our child follows the KIPP Austin College Prep dress code as described in the Student Handbook.
